A Listening Space for Parents
The work of parenting is both amazing and incredibly hard, and sometimes we struggle and feel like we’re on our own. We are asked to dig deep, figure things out, be the very best we can day after day, often with very little support.
Parents share a range of struggles with me, such as managing online technology and gaming, knowing how to say no, staying close to their teenagers, finding time to be there for their child in an over-busy life, and bedtime troubles.
Also many children face school pressures of one sort or another, learning struggles, doing homework, peer group social issues, not getting on with teachers or with not following the school rules, and all of that can impact on life at home.
There is an abundance of parenting advice available, making it easy to become overwhelmed and confused.
I find that children benefit when their parents have a safe place to share, and someone really listens. No one can know your child like you do; you are the expert on you, your relationship with your child/children, and you know your family and your circumstances better than anyone.
I’m here to listen and understand. I believe that you can figure this out if you’re understood and supported well. It’s like the clouds clearing and then you can find the sun in your life again.
You can drop in for a one-off session as and when needed or commit to regular parenting support.
My work is informed by in-depth studies with Hand-in-Hand Parenting, the Neufeld Institute, Dr Gabor Mate and the Person-Centred Approach to life and relationships.
Come and make a difference to your life and that of your family, experience the power of counselling where you will find more peace, more playfulness and a sense you’re not so alone.
